Working with me

Who will I be working with?

Me! I'm Heather Crozier, the founder of Celovia. I'm an independent Canadian travel advisor and travel agent affiliated with Trevello Travel Group. The TICO registration (#5003057) belongs to Trevello, not to Celovia on its own.

Why use a travel advisor?

A travel advisor does more than take a booking. I help you choose the destination, plan the itinerary, and book the stays, flights, tours, and cruises that fit how you travel. I also answer your questions before you leave and help if something unexpected comes up along the way.

Who do you usually plan for?

Couples, families, solo travellers, and small groups who would rather talk a trip through than guess from reviews. You might already know exactly where you want to go, or you might only know you need a break. Either is a great place to start. If you love planning every detail yourself, you may not need me, and that's okay too.

Where are you based? Do I need to live nearby?

I'm based in Ottawa, Ontario, and I plan for travellers across Canada and beyond. We can work together by call, by email, or both, so where you live doesn't change how the planning works.

Planning and booking

How do I get started?

Whatever feels easiest for you: Send me a note through the secure enquiry form. Book the complimentary 30-minute consultation. Fill in a travel profile if you'd like to share how you travel before we talk. Not ready to plan a whole trip? Just ask a question.

How does the planning process work?

There are four simple steps: Consultation: a complimentary 30-minute chat about your travel goals, budget, style, and wish list. Research fee: once you decide you'd like my help, the research fee is paid and I start digging in. Proposal: I email personalized recommendations and a custom itinerary, and we review it together by phone or Zoom. Booking: when you approve the trip, I book the stays, flights, tours, and other details.

Can you book flights, hotels, and tours?

Absolutely. I can book the pieces that make the plan work: Stays, from all-inclusive resorts and boutique lodges to jungle stays and city apartments. Flights, chosen around your schedule, comfort, and budget. Transfers, shuttles, water taxis, and trains between places. Tours and activities, at a pace that still leaves room to breathe. Cruises, when a ship is the right fit for the trip.

When should I start planning my trip?

The earlier, the better. Planning several months ahead usually gives you the best selection and availability. That said, if you're planning a last-minute getaway, I'll always do my best to help.

Can you work within my budget?

Absolutely. Every traveller has a different budget, and my goal is to help you get great value while planning a trip you'll truly enjoy.

What if I need to cancel or change my trip?

Cancellation and change policies depend on the airline, hotel, cruise line, or tour company. I'll explain the important policies before you book, and help you work through changes if your plans shift.

How do proposals and revisions work?

I send your proposal by email, and we review it together by phone or Zoom. The planning fee includes the initial proposal and up to two rounds of revisions, so three versions in total. Each additional round of revisions costs $50. I'll confirm that extra charge with you before any further work begins.

Destinations I help with

Which destinations do you help with?

Belize, Europe, and the Caribbean are my specialties: Belize: beach, jungle, cayes, and the combinations in between. It's a place I know first-hand and hold close, including Placencia, where we got married. Europe: France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, with routes that don't try to see eight countries in nine days. The Caribbean: Jamaica, Barbados, Saint Lucia, and the Dominican Republic, whether you want an all-inclusive or an independent stay. Cruises, romantic getaways, and trips somewhere new to explore, when I can plan them well.

Do you only plan Belize?

No. Belize is one of my specialties and a place that means a lot to me, but I also plan trips to Europe, the Caribbean, cruises, and other destinations, including places I know well from my own travels, like Paris and London.

Do you book all-inclusive resorts?

Yes. All-inclusive holidays are a great fit when you want meals and the beach taken care of, and I'm happy to plan them. If you'd rather have more time outside the resort, I can suggest independent stays too.

What if my trip isn't something you specialize in?

I believe every traveller deserves expert advice. Some vacations, like Disney, are best planned by advisors who focus only on those destinations. If your trip falls outside what I cover well, I'll gladly connect you with a trusted travel advisor who specializes in it. I'd rather know you're in the best hands than try to be everything to everyone.

Fees and payments

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The initial 30-minute consultation is complimentary, and so is sending me a question. It's a chance to talk the trip through and see whether we're a good fit, with no pressure.

How much do you charge for planning?

The research and planning fee is $50 per person: $50 per traveller aged 2 or older. Children under 2 are not charged. It covers my time researching and preparing personalized travel options. It's paid upfront once you confirm you'd like my help, and before I begin research. It's non-refundable, and it is not credited toward the booking. The fee applies whether you book through Celovia, cancel your plans, or book elsewhere. For example, two adults travelling together would pay $100. The initial 30-minute consultation stays complimentary.

Is the research fee ever waived?

Yes. The Celovia research fee is waived for Canadian military members, veterans, and their families planning a personal trip. Just mention it when you get in touch. The waiver is my own offer and covers the Celovia research fee only. It isn't a military benefit, and flights, hotels, insurance, excursions, and other travel costs are not discounted. Celovia is independent and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the Canadian Armed Forces, DND, or CFMWS.

Does booking through you cost more than booking direct?

In many cases, no. Most hotels, resorts, cruise lines, and tour companies include advisor commissions in their pricing, so you'll often pay the same price for those bookings as you would booking direct. The research fee is in addition to those booking costs.

When do I pay for the trip itself?

Once you approve the trip and it's ready to book, travel costs are paid according to each supplier's payment terms. Those terms vary between hotels, airlines, cruise lines, and tour companies, so I'll explain what applies before anything is booked.

What to expect

What will I get from you?

More than a list of links! You can expect: Personalized recommendations and a custom itinerary, built around your pace and interests. Your plan in one place, including what happens on travel days. Timing, connections, and document reminders, so you're not piecing it together the week you leave. Answers to your questions before you go.

How quickly will I hear back?

I usually reply within a business day. My hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern.

Do you sell travel insurance?

Not directly. I don't currently sell travel insurance, but I can connect you with someone on Trevello's support team who can help arrange coverage.

Will you be available while I'm travelling?

If something unexpected happens before or during your trip, I'm here to help guide you through it and work with our travel partners whenever possible. I don't promise round-the-clock coverage, but day to day I'm available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern.

Why choose Celovia?

Planning a trip isn't just about finding flights and hotels. It's about creating an experience that's right for you. I take the time to get to know you by asking thoughtful questions about your travel style, interests, budget, and what you want most from your vacation. Then I dive into the research, compare the options, and handle the planning and booking behind the scenes. And if another destination or type of travel is better served by a specialist, I'll happily introduce you to one. My mission is simple: To turn your dream trip into reality while making the planning process just as enjoyable as the adventure itself.
