When to Go & Travel Tips
Late November through April is the season I aim for with first-time visitors: clearer skies, calmer water, and lighter humidity. The month-by-month guide below is the closer look. Passport, money, safety, and packing stay on the Belize FAQs.
The practical answers — passport, currency, safety, food, packing, and insurance — are in the Belize FAQs. They are not repeated here.

The seasons
Late November to April
The dry season. Clearer skies, calmer water, and the busiest months. Book the stays earlier if you want this window.
Late April and early May
A shoulder I still recommend when you want quieter resorts and lush mornings, before the rains settle in.
June to November
The wet season. Greener, with a higher chance of rain. The main hurricane window is August through October, so autumn trips need flexible plans and strong insurance. I don't sell travel insurance directly, but I can connect you with someone on Trevello's support team who can help arrange coverage.
Getting there and around
- Most international travellers land at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), in Ladyville, just outside Belize City.
- From there, the cayes are a water taxi, a short domestic flight, or a private transfer. Inland is usually a shuttle or a private transfer.
- Belize City is the connection for the airport, the boats, and cruise days. It is rarely the long stay.
Entry rules and advisories change. Before you book and again before you fly, check travel.gc.ca.
