Saint Lucia Trip Ideas & Inspiration
These are ways to shape a trip, not fixed packages. One base suits most weeks. A split stay works when you want both sides of the island. Tell me how you like to travel and I’ll adjust the days.
Ways to spend the time
- 7 nights: Soufrière for scenery — A hillside or beachfront stay near the Pitons, with a guided hike, the Sulphur Springs and a snorkelling day. Close to Hewanorra, too.
- 7 nights: Rodney Bay for variety — More restaurants, a walkable strip and larger resorts, with a day trip south by road or boat to see the Pitons.
- 10 nights: South, then north — Start near Soufrière, then finish in the north for beach time and dining. Check your departure airport so the last transfer isn’t a surprise.
- Two islands: Saint Lucia and Barbados — Regional flights connect the two islands in under an hour, which makes a two-island trip possible when you have the time. Barbados planning
Is Saint Lucia right for this trip?
A good match if
- It’s a honeymoon, anniversary or milestone trip
- Dramatic scenery matters as much as the beach
- You enjoy a hike or rainforest day
- You like boutique resorts with a strong sense of place
Maybe look elsewhere if
- Long, flat, walkable beaches are the priority — Barbados or the Dominican Republic may suit better
- You want the shortest possible airport transfer to a northern resort
- You want lots of nightlife outside the resort
Keep planning
