Tell me what kind of break you need

I grew up in a military family, and my husband, other family members, and friends are part of the military community. I've also worked for Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) for many years. Supporting and serving the military community is a meaningful part of my life, and planning trips is one more way I can do that. My travel-planning work is independent and separate from CFMWS.

As a travel advisor for CAF members in Canada and abroad, I'd like the planning to be the easy part when you have time to get away, so you can spend less energy coordinating and more time looking forward to the trip.

If you're a CAF member deployed abroad and you've chosen to use approved HLTA or other authorized leave for personal travel, I can help you plan a leisure trip during that time. That might be a few days of rest somewhere warm, a city you've wanted to see, or meeting your spouse or partner somewhere you'll both enjoy. I plan the trip around the time you've already been approved to take.

Please confirm your leave timing and any requirements through your official channels before we book anything. I don't administer HLTA, leave, or benefits, and I can't advise on eligibility or approvals. We can work by email, or find a call time that suits your time zone. I don't need operational or sensitive service information to plan a personal trip, only the ordinary details of the trip you have in mind.

Beach days, a good book, and dinner by the water. All-inclusive or independent, in the Caribbean, Belize, or somewhere new to explore.

City breaks, food, history, and countryside, with a route that still feels like a holiday rather than a race.

Travelling from different places? I can plan a trip where you and your spouse or partner fly in separately and meet at the destination.

Time together somewhere that feels special, whether that's a quiet beach, a city you've always wanted to see, or both.

A trip on your own terms, or a holiday with friends. Either way, it's planned around the people going.

That's a fine place to start. Tell me what kind of break you need, and we'll work out where it might be.

If you and your spouse or partner are leaving from different cities or airports, I can coordinate both sets of flights, plan how you'll meet at the destination, and arrange returns to different airports if needed.

Dates can sometimes shift. Where they're available, I can compare changeable or refundable options and explain each supplier's rules before you book. Changes aren't always possible or free, so you'll know the terms up front.

Tell me about any comfort or accessibility preferences you'd like considered, such as a quieter room, step-free access, an aisle seat, or a slower pace. You don't need to share private medical or service details.

For other travellers, the fee is $50 per traveller aged 2 or older. It covers my time researching your options and preparing a proposal, with up to two rounds of revisions. Just mention that you're a serving member, veteran, or family member when you get in touch. You don't need to share service details.

The waiver is my own offer and applies to the Celovia research fee only. It isn't a military benefit or program, and it doesn't cover flights, hotels, travel insurance, excursions, or other travel costs, which are paid at the supplier's rates and on their payment terms. The 30-minute consultation is complimentary for everyone.

Celovia doesn't offer travel discounts itself, but I can check whether the suppliers for your trip offer a military discount. Those discounts depend on each supplier's availability and eligibility rules, and they aren't guaranteed.

Questions about planning with me

Who is this for?

Serving CAF members, whether in Canada or deployed abroad, and veterans who are planning a personal leisure trip, solo or as a couple. It’s also travel planning for veterans in Canada who want help with a trip of their own. Family members are welcome too, and the research fee waiver includes them.

What does the research fee waiver cover?

The Celovia research fee is waived for serving members, veterans, and their families. Normally it is $50 per traveller aged 2 or older, and it covers my time researching and preparing your proposal, including up to two rounds of revisions. The waiver applies to the Celovia research fee only. It is my own offer, not a military benefit or program. Just mention that you’re a serving member, veteran, or family member when you get in touch. You don’t need to share service details.

Do you offer military discounts on flights, hotels, or tours?

Celovia doesn’t offer travel discounts itself. When I research your trip, I can check whether the airlines, hotels, or other suppliers involved offer a military discount. Those discounts depend on each supplier’s availability and eligibility rules, and they aren’t guaranteed. The research fee waiver is separate: it’s my own offer on the Celovia fee, not a military benefit.

Can you help me plan a trip during HLTA or other leave?

Yes, if it’s a personal leisure trip during HLTA or other leave you’ve already been approved to take. I plan the trip around your approved dates. I don’t administer HLTA, leave, or benefits, and I can’t advise on eligibility, entitlements, or approvals. Please confirm your leave timing and any requirements through your official channels before anything is booked.

I’m deployed abroad. How do we plan the trip?

We can work by email, or set up a call at a time that suits your time zone. Please don’t send operational information — no locations, units, missions, bases, or movement dates. I only need ordinary trip details: where you’d like to go, approximate dates, the city or airport you’d leave from, whether you’re travelling with a spouse or partner, and a rough budget.

My partner and I are leaving from different cities. Can you plan around that?

Yes. I can coordinate flights so you each leave from your own city or airport, plan how you’ll meet at the destination, and arrange returns to different airports if needed. Routes and fares vary, so I’ll show you the options before anything is booked.

What if my travel dates might change?

Tell me early if your dates aren’t certain. Where they’re available, I can compare changeable or refundable options, and I’ll explain each supplier’s rules before you book. Changes aren’t always possible or free, and rules vary by airline, hotel, and supplier, so travel insurance is worth looking at closely too.

Is Celovia connected to the CAF or CFMWS?

No. Celovia is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the CAF, the Department of National Defence, CFMWS, Personnel Support Programs (PSP), or Support Our Troops. This is a personal focus of mine because of my own connection to the military community.
