Honeymoons and Romantic Escapes

A honeymoon or anniversary trip deserves more than a nice room. The weeks that work leave space: a beach morning, an afternoon with nothing booked, and one or two days that feel like an adventure you did together.

Belize is personal for me. It was the first trip my husband and I took together, and in March 2026 we went back and got married in Placencia.

Places that suit this kind of trip

  • Placencia, Belize — Quiet, adults-only stays and an easy beach rhythm, where I often protect an empty day on purpose.
  • Saint Lucia — One of the Caribbean’s classic honeymoon islands, with the Pitons and intimate resorts.
  • Belize — Jungle and beach in one trip, so a honeymoon can be more than a resort stay.
  • Barbados — Quiet sunset evenings on the calmer west coast, or restaurants nearby on the south.

Trip ideas

  • The Slow Honeymoon (Belize) — Private transfers, beachfront suites, a chef’s-table night, and a day with absolutely nothing on it.
  • Soufrière for scenery (Saint Lucia) — A hillside or beachfront stay near the Pitons, with a guided hike and a snorkelling day.
